Great site here, glad to have found it. Here's my issue: 87 4x4 ext cab pickup 22R. New MC, booster and new rear shoes by prev owner ( my in-law's mechanic) whith in the last 2 months. I replaced the front pads myself last evening and when I was finished I had no brake pedal at all. Right to the floor no pressure and none would build up after pumping several times. I bled the fronts, passenger then driver side. Weak flow but no air and still no pressure. Then I dawned on me, I never removed the reservoir cap on the MC. Could this be the issue? Could the MC have been damaged by compressing the caliper pistons creating too much pressure and causing something in the MC to blow? For what it's worth, the pistons compressed as they should have, not to hard or loose. Trying to resolve this ASAP I have to move the truck tonight from where it is now. Thanks in advance for the help guys!

Feverishly doing all three. I will try that. You don't feel I damaged the the MC by compressing the caliper pistons with the reservoir cap on?

Thanks Wabbit

Nah, you didn't hurt the MC at all. You just still have air in there. Welcome to the forums!

Maybe get a vacuum bleeder. I don't want to sound cocky but are you certain you are using proper technique? Do you have a helper? Bleeding brakes can be very frustrating and sometimes takes forever. I had a 76 Chevy that tried bleeding for like 5 hours one time before giving up. Vacuum bleeder fixed it in 10 minutes. If the system has lots of air it will barely compress. Does it seem to be building any pressure at all?
