hey i live in Duvall area and my 86 4runner i got as a fixer-upper and well we got it running but it's still spuddering/loosing power whene you try to give it moderate amount of throttle. we've cleaned the injectors and changed the gas and the oil and filters. we are planning on checking the throttle positioning sensor today. i don't know exactly how to do that but yeah. if you have any ideas on things to try or why it's happening. it's been sitting for over 2 years before this.

Did you try a tuneup? cap, rotor, wires & plugs.

 

replace fuel filters do a compression test and check the timing

 

truck seafoaming it! if its been sitting that long its got build-up and cloggup from old gas and other things nasta..... other than that full tune-up! oil change.... fuel filter... airfilter.... Timing? EGR? any codes? check engine light?

 

well i did most of that, change gas, filters, and well my best bet is the throttle position sensor is bad. but i just want to know what other peoplem think. before e spend the money.

 

well theres only so much you can do without spending money.... check and if nessacary adjst timing... clean egr passages....clean throttle body....
