need help 87 runner turbo questions!!!

need help 87 runner turbo questions!!!
I have an 87 turbo runner I just picked up not too long ago and have a lot of questions. I'm new to all of this so hopefully I'm not asking anything really dumb. Anyways the engine runs great and the turbo seems to be working ok. But is there anything I can do to increase the turbo fairly cheap? Would intercooler help much? Rebuild turbo? Bigger turbo? Better intake system and exhaust? I have heard all that would help but also heard some of that stuff won't do much. Any advice??
