Mysterious 22r Ignition/fuel issue

So I have an 88 Toyota Pickup (EFI). The engine (2.4L 4 cyl. 22r) was swapped from a carbourated 87 pickup, and the fuel system was changed back to EFI.

The truck will start and idle. If you apply throttle immediately after starting, the engine floods and stalls. If you're careful with the gas; it will drive, but then will randomly start hiccoughing and then you lose all power; if you mash the gas at this point the engine stalls.

Things I have checked:

Vaccum Hoses
Catalytic converter / exhaust backpressure

My Ideas:

Mass Airflow Sensor?
Fuel filter?
Computer?
Some other ignition issue?

Any help you guys could give me would be much appreciated. I really need to get this beast moving!

Thanks in advance,

-Abel

Are you using the EFI distributor/ignitor? What do you have the ignition timing set at?

Don't forget to set it with the jumper in the diagnostic connector. Otherwise you might experience this issue as well.
