missing jet to choke opener

missing jet to choke opener
on my 86 pickup there is supposed to be a small jet on the vacuum hose that goes to the choke opener. i broke it and right now the hose just goes directly to the choke opener. i was curious if this is problematic. does the jet need to be there?
