I'm really impartial to the airbag thing. I see both sides of the arguement but sadly I don't get the final say. I'm only seventeen and my mom says it has to have airbags, then that's the law for me right? my sis got in an accident two weeks ago and she got destroyed by the airbag (teeth through her lip, all that jazz) so I see all of your arguements but then again my other sister totaled her car about five years ago and they were the only reason she walked away from it.

thanks for the lift info though. first thing I'll do is through those 33's on there then I might do a mild body lift and fix the back if it's sagging (haven't personally seen the one I'm hoping to get yet)
The 5 speed 3.0 is a nice truck. My last one had just shy of 300,000 miles on it and was the most reliable powertrain next to my old 300D I have ever owned. You will find the 3.0 to be a tad slow and 22RE to be hopelessly slow in identical trucks.

If you need air bags, you will have to go with the 3rd gen trucks. Or, talk mom out of that requirement and wear your seat belt. If the belt is on you shouldn't be heading into the steering wheel anyway.

Another reason to try to purchase the less expensive vehicle is it will leave you more money for mods. With those 33's you will want to regear to 4.88's. And of course while the diffs are out that's the best time to install a locker... you get the picture. You save the most down the road but spend the most at one time by doing the tires/gears/lockers all at the same time.
