I like your innovation on your spark plug wire loom that you made. That's pretty creative and looks good. And I bet it's a fraction of the cost of my LCE wire loom:

Question for you, where did you get that air cleaner? And do you have hood clearance issues?

Oooowww....... Thats a purdy red motor! I thought about going red but my engine compartment is blue and I thought it would clash. Yeah, the wire loom is just something I threw together because I didnt want to spent too much on dress up items. Im trying to recover from all the performance mods so I can get my gears. lol.
The air cleaner was a complete fab. I took an aftermarket Edlebrok air cleaner and sealed it to A piece of 20ga steal plate (I cut to fit the top of the webber carb) using RTV and rivits. Then built a bracket for the wing nut mount and welded it to the 20ga plate. I couldnt get new webber filters locally and like replacing my filter after trips up the mountains because of the dust. The edelbrok air cleaner I purchased had a 1.7/8" tall filter but I managed to find a direct fit filter thats 3.25" tall and fit the same circumference. (Fram # 192) and modified it to work. As for clearance issues, Im running a 1" body lift so I had the extra room to go taller. I hadnt figured it to be a performance mod but was amazed as to the extra power and better idle the motor had after the mod. Not nascar performance but it definitely ran better with the larger filter.

Where does your valve cover vent from? I see the PCV valve location but not the vent? Do i need a vent on mine? Cap it off?
Is that a one wire alternator? I just purchased the new LCe one wire alt bracket and have the Alt coming in from Napa (maybe tomorrow). I think mines just going to be a 94a model because I would like to go to an electric fan in the future. My power usage isnt going to be extreme though, maybe a couple off road lights and my stereo without huge amps and such.

Thank You. Ive got 120 miles on it now and running very well. Im curious about timing? The book says 10*BTDC and I have got mine at 12*BTDC with no pinging and 19lbs of vacuum at 4000ft elevation. Is this going to be ok or should I put it back to 10*BTDC and 18lbs of vacuum? Im getting great low end power (considering its still a 4banger) where its at now.

I have heard of many people advancing it just a bit. If you have no pinging then you should be good to go. I run mine at 12 deg as well

I am sure someone who actually knows will respond soon.

Yes, you need to vent your crankcase. You should actually have both an inlet and an outlet. The outlet has the valve.
