messed up hg replacement.
alright heres the story i got this oil leak on my 1994 4runner 3.0 efi so i took it to jiffy lube and they told me it was my rear main seal so before i decided to get the rear main done i got some blacklight dye and found out that the leak was coming from my valve covers so i decide to get those done this weekend at my buddies house . every thing came off and went on fine except the air intake gasket broke but my buddy put on sealer for that and i dont know if there was a crack on the manafold before hand but for sure there is one now .which bring me to my question after we got it all together i started it up and it idled for a moment and dies. it stays going with my foot on the gas. maybe i got a crossed hose
now if it is the crack will i be able to use jb weld or something to fix it. could that gasket do this.
all the help i can get is appreciated i need this car to get to work and i am hoping that maybe it is just a crossed hose because im pretty broke. thanks again ill get pics on here tomorrow maybe someone will see the problem

Starts then dies = big ol' vac. leak. Sometimes it is the Mass Air Flow sensor still unplugged too.
Check the rubber boots in the intake too. Look for cracks. Your truck is about the right age to have a cracked boot.
A crack in the manifold? Yeah, you will have to fix that. Try JB weld while you find a used manifold.

alight right got it to a shop and they said i must have not hooked up injector harness but when i took the intake off the first time we didnt mess with any electronics. But looking at the wires i looks like they need to be replaces since when i move them to the side the housings just crack and fall off. it starts up with carb cleaner but still dies the mechanic says that there is no pulse to my gas???? and thats what lead to the wires

if it starts on carb cleaner but wont stay running you definately have a fuel delivery problem. First thing is to check if the fuel pump is on. (turn the key on, but dont start it, should hear it kick on for a second to prime the fuel system) Second, if it is running, then check the pressure in the line. If you have pressure then its probably a fuel injector firing problem, but I dont know why all 6 wouldnt fire (should be a common denominator for it to happen, I just dont know what it would be.)
Id put my money on the fuel pump not kicking on, or not delivering pressure.

plug in the MAS air sensor on top of the air filter. That little door has to open to send a signal to keep the fuel pump running after start.
That little door also won't open if there is a manifold leak. check that intake trunking again. I still think you'll find a crack.
