Lunchbox locker going out?

Lunchbox locker going out?
I have searched for lunchbox locker problems and didn't find anything. Everybody seems to have no troubles. I have no clue which locker is in my pickup. I bought it not knowing it had it in it and figured it out afterwards. It has worked great and has never given me any problems and helps tremendously with traction off-road. The only thing was tire chirp and an occasional clunk. But I have learned to drive to minimize. So no problem there. But my problem now is that it is starting to act a little weird. When I downshift into 2nd and as I let the clutch out it goes "click click click CLUNK" and seems to be associated with the passenger side. I just put new tires on and have more than enough grip. Right after I got the new tires I tried a couple times quite hard to break them loose and one time the locker made an unusually loud CLUNK as I downshifted into second. Does anyone have any idea what these lockers act like if they have a chipped tooth or broken pin or something? Do they ever end up acting open?

Hmmm, that helps but was not really what I was wanting to hear. So the next thing is what do you guys think I should do when it does go out and I loose power. Should I get another lunchbox or what? What are my prices?

Ya, I thought that might be it but it is ratcheting on one side everytime I downshift. I am thinking it might be good to regear at the same time and go to 4.56. Would that increase the life of the next one?

Alright Its pretty much gone. I backed out of my driveway too fast today because I was pressed for time and its clunking and grinding bad. Anyone have a used lunchbox in good condition? I might be putting in 4.56's as well, so does anyone have anything? Its my DD and I am in college so I need parts very quickly. I repeat, Urgent... help.

Ya, I'm sure there is fragments in there though it runs smooth under forward torque. Just in reverse or compression braking. I will probably use my dads car tomorrow. And if I replace the gears which I think I am since I'll have to borrow money anyway, I will make sure that I don't run with damaged gears. I mean, whats 700 bucks when you gotta borrow 300 anyway.

Ok, need more help. I just got the third down and the ring gear is thrashed and the whole gear and locker has about 1/2 of play from side to side. Not good. But I found out it is not a lunchbox, I think it might be a Detroit or a Grizzly. Here is some pics, what do ya guys think?

Ya, I'm thinking that too. There is a lot of stuff I am finding that I have had to redo or fix because something was not done right. Do you have any idea what kind of locker this is?
