Low Compression on One Cylinder

Low Compression on One Cylinder
Okay, so I know I have low compression on one cylinder (still don't know which one, just too lazy to test, suspect #2). Anyway, you can tell because of how it cranks, (excuse the lame sound effects)
It goes- cha-huh-huuuuh-huh-huuuuh-huh-huuuuh
Well that didn't really turn out well, but believe me it does have low compression on one cylinder. Anyway, could misadjusted valves cause this? I am asking cause I'm gonna have it in the shop tomorrow to fix my starter, and want to know if this is worth checking?
Thanks in advance.

I have practically eliminated blown head gasket because it doesen't smoke white, and it hasn't used a drop of coolant since I bought it 5000 miles ago. Its an easy job, so I'll adjust the valves today

thats exactly what mine is doing in a 3.0. I think its the exhaust valve. I know for a fact its on number 6 though. I may pull the valve cover soon, but other than that the engine is getting replaced in spring so I am not to worried with it
