Looking to do a rotor disc job, is there a good write up?
I got an 89 4runner 22re 5spd, and I bought a whole new set of brake pads, a right front caliper and a new set of rotors.
I know how to replace brake pads, but I've never replaced rotors before. I heard it was not easy on the 4runners because the rotors do not just slide off as it does on my jeep.
I have the full service manual, but it's pretty vague on how to replace the rotors, so I am just wondering if anyone has a good write up on how to replace them? I have checked all around the net and there doesn't seem to be one.
Also, is it really as difficult as they say it is, or will I have no problems?

It isn't bad per se, its just the rotors are just about a press-fit onto the hubs (the reason I'm not sure whether they are press-fit is that there might have been a slight layer of oil-soaked rust that built up on the hub that increased its diameter a touch. The easiest way to get the rotor off the hub is to hit is with penetrating oil, then put the hub in a vice and use a chisel to separate teh hub from the rotor. Aside from that, I don't remember it being too tough a job and if you run into issues, post up a question on here with "URGENT!" in the topic, and you'll be set right in no time. Best of luck.

This article is for the wheel bearings, but it should help

After you get the hub/rotor assembly off you have to remove the six bolts on the inside to seperate the rotor. On mine they were extremely tight. If you don't have an impact gun try putting the hub into a wheel that's lying flat on the ground, so that the wheel studs are in the bolt holes in the wheel. Then you can stand on the rotor and wheel to keep it steady. You'll probably need a long bar and socket to get the bolts loose, and it's easier with 2 people. After you get the bolts out stick the rotor in a vice and tap the hub out.
You'll also need to repack the wheel bearings, and replace them if needed. And it's a good idea to get new inner grease seals.
