Little filters on valve covers?

If its a stock valve cover, it has two vents. One is PCV (positive crankcase ventilation), and is located at the rear of the valve cover, and has manifold vacuum applied and controlled by a valve, the PCV valve. The other is at the front, and it connects to the stock air filter housing for burning the crankcase fumes that the PCV doesn't get, and/or to draw air from the air cleaner(clean air) for the PCV system(primarily).
The little filters you see on the vids is just primarily to filter the air coming into the valve cover/PCV system, bypassing the air cleaner. You'll probably notice they don't have stock air cleaners also...
