shocks?...still cant narrow it down

so im going with the ome 881/906 lift relatively soon. but i can't decide on which shocks to go with and ive done a lot of research. first of all, the lift is going on a 97 2wd 4runner (i know its not 4wd). this is 99% onroad with the occasional dirt road if we go camping or something. so not offroading really for me. looking for a good onroad capable shock. the wife and kids are mainly going to be in the 4runner so its gotta ride good. don't have a ton of money to spend so i can't go crazy. the ome shocks i see are expensive so not looking to spend that much and since why go ome shocks when i don't really offroad? other brands i see are bilstein, trekmaster, tokico, rancho. bilstein seems to much too. anyhelp would be helpful for me and if anybody is running what im looking for then let me know. thanks, sorry for the long post but dang i need some answers. later. also model #'s of shocks would help too

Good stuff aint cheap, cheap stuff aint good.
I have OME N86s in the rear with 890 coils and its stiff, but not harsh for my 2 year old and 8 year old.
Tundra springs and Billsteins up front and its firm also.
If you want to do a cheap lift, go with a spacer kit and new factory shocks. It wont be anything amazing, but it will work.

FYI, the 881/906 combo will give you a little lift but not much.

I have Bilsteins and love them. They are a firm shock but not harsh.

I would go with the OME comfort shocks for sure then. You can see my set-up in my sig.

would this lift combo sit level??

99% onroad 97 2wd 4runner. was thinking the newer 2.5" daystar easy install spacers(new ones have extension screws so no taking strut apart anymore) for the front with ome 906 coils for the rear. would this combo sit level and ride nice on street. cant find any info about running these together. i've looked. thanks. would love to see pics if possible

i'd go 890's, i think with the 2.5" spacer and the 906's the front would be higher than the rear

rear 99 coils with daystar front spacer

searched and cant find out if this setup would sit level. have a 97 2wd 4runner. going to put daystar 1.5" lift spacers on front. but on rear instead of spacers i want to know if the 99 4wd coils would sit level with the spacers up front. right now my rear sit 1/2" lower than my front on stock suspension. any ideas. heard that by doing these coils, that there is some sort of rear fix(according to sonoran steel website) that needs to be done. or would the 99 2wd coils sit more level. need help

u might be able to get away with it... the front typically droops a little forward on 4runners so it would be closer to leveled out. but ive nvr personally run this so thats just an assumption.

mixed info with 99 tall springs??

so i narrowed down my choices and i think im strongly set on 99 4wd rear coils. i have a 2wd 97 4runner. i asked steve (sonoran steel) and he said these would lift my rear about 3". that would put my rear height with 31s at roughly 37" from fender to ground. while researching forever i've been getting that roughly 36" is the norm running similar size tire. kinda puzzled since steve knows his stuff but reading different results. i would love to see some pics and posted measurements with this setup. i dont offroad its a family vehicle so have 3 kids in there most of the time. so looking for comfortable ride. leaving stock shocks now but later maybe green trekmasters? right now my rear sits at 34" on both sides. could anybody help me clarify.

So you asked Steve. He gave you a definitive answer.
