I didn't know spacers settle. It be interesting to see what people say. In my opinion i would go for either 2 or 2.5 inch lift.

 

oh dang, i didnt realize it was a spacer kit! i thought it was new coils or something, i hope you didnt pay much for the spacer kit, a guy near me sells spacer kits for like 75$, got one for my dads 05 2wd taco.

 

I'm guessing blocks for leaf springs would be a "type" of spacer right? He's talking a about a coil spacer though. Kinda looks like a donut.

 

yup, got some, welded metal donuts with studs on top and bottom.

 

I dont think anyone suggested getting the OEM '99 tall coils. The difference from a 2wd 97 to the '99 tall coils will be AROUND 2" and will look a hell of a lot better IMO, plus you would be keeping a STOCK ride feel and 31's will look fine.

 

the Toytec back spring and front spacer combo around $300 ...2" bl wouldn't be bad either.

 

Just a quick word about the Daystar spacers. I put the 2.5" spacers in the front of my truck, but only gained 1.875" of height. I took accurate before and after measurments too. That was back in July, I haven't checked to see if they have sagged yet or not.

 

The reason I ask WHY you want to lift it is to find out your true purpose for lifting it. 31"s fit fine without a lift. Like I said, if you have future plans for larger tires then yes go with it. The primary goal of taller tires is less lift for a lower center of gravity. I'm assuming you are just wanting a taller stance at this point, which is fine. It's your vehicle. You want to build your rig for your primary purpose when using it for 4wheeling. That's why I asked. Not trying to be a smart arse about it if you took any offense to it.

 

Yes right now I am looking for a taller more aggressive stance. Its our DD and my wife and kids are in it the majority of the time. I'd say in bout 2 years is when i would try to do more offroading but i do only have the 2wd. I wouldn't do crawling but i would be into trails or something like that but nothing serious if 2wd is ok. After these tires wear down, I would go bigger of course. So the 1999 springs from a 4wd?? give me about a 2" lift. If thats the case, that might be perfect for my scenario and I will be able to keep a stock suspension. So the 99 coils would lift my 2wd 97 runner more then lets say a 4wd 97 runner? where would i find a set of these? should i get them new or used?

take a look at them and read up on it a little. There is a 2wd rear fix you have to get when you put the tall coils on a 2wd but yes, it will work. IMO I would just look for them used, unless you absolutely want them brand new. I'll be selling a set soon cus I just bought my toytec lift. I'll be posting them in the classifieds soon, which is area of this forum you should check out

 

i was worried about the used ones being saggy. are yours sagging at all? i would like 2" so if i went 99 coils i would them with descent mileage on them. btw what toytec lift u doin?

 

No, mine do not have any noticable sag... and the ride is pretty good, not stiff at all.

I got the front OME 883's and the rear OME 891's... If you arent planning on going with the tall coils I would suggest the 881's with the top plate spacer and the rear 890's. It will sit around 2.5 -3 inches at first and If you trailer things or haul a lot of weight around it will prob sag down to around 2" I got the medium coils bc I plan on adding bumpers front and rear and a winch later down the line,

 

i don't really want to get almost 3 inches lift cause i don't want my 31's to look too small. how does the ome ride for street use. been reading about ome 891 for front and 906 for rear. is that a smaller lift then what you have? don't carry lots of heavy weight just your normal day to day stuff. and don't want a raked look would prefer it level. thanks

 

you mean 881's for the front? 891's are rears. Yea, I know quite a few people do the 881/906 and it looks pretty good. But you will still be a little over 2" with it. Your best bet to stay within 2" is just get the factory tall coils.

 

yea i meant 881 for the front/906 for rear. if it will lift between 2" - 2.5" thats what i want. its closer to 3" is what i don't want. so is this lift good for street use

 

i have searched many threads and can't seem to come up with an exact answer. i have a 97 2wd 4runner and am looking at this lift setup. does anybody know how much lift the 881/906 would give me. i am looking right around 2" and anybody run these with stock shocks as i don't have the funds for much yet. my ride is 99% street driven so i would like a setup to work nice on the road. wife and 3 lil ones will usually be riding in this. thanks for the help if you can

 

that will give you 2" of lift. I got 3"+ in the front with top plate spacers, but only 2" in the back. but i'm running new OME shocks with those springs. about to trade in my 906's for 890's if Toytec will accept/understand what i'm trying to tell them...

 

why are you trading in the 906s for 890s. how did the 906s ride for you. what are your plans

 

i run the 881/890 combination on OME shocks... they're stiff, but they ride nicer than stock... lifted my 4x4 4runner 2" up front, and 3" in the back, as my rear suspension was very saggy...

 

Those will will work great together. Definitely a standard spring rate coil for your vehicle. (not designed to handle any additional weight)

If you use just the 881 with no kind of top plate spacers, that should present a level vehicle. But with the 881's up front, you should only get just over 2 inches of lift.
