Cool knock sensor wire cut and no code thrown

wzup guys so i have a 22re 4runner that i bought a few months ago and i was in the engine compartment today and found my knock sensor wire cut and crimped about 3 inches off the sensor but no other wire in sight to connect it to huh? but whats really throwing me is that no code is thrown by the ecu, i have a tps code (87 11 blinks) but that is all any ideas whats going on here? any opinion is welcomed thanks

Well my guess is that its because the computer is just that....a simple, dumb computer. It probably only knows how to throw a light if a knock is detected...in this state, that will never happen! haha

Thats what im thinkin...i changed my head gasket and during the process i somehow cut my wire for my oil light and the light didnt come on so i think that it wont show the light unless the actual sensor finds something

I wouldn't say that the ECU is a simple dumb computer. I would say that the previous owner is dumb for cutting the wire.

Correct. Cut KS wires won't throw a code.

If I'm not mistaken, Code 11 is the same as Code 51 on the newer yotas and unless that code is cleared, you cannot read any others thrown by the ECU. Code 11 will have to be cleared before you can see other codes.

Also, Code 11 will not allow you to properly time it.

Cool

i actually found the code stored in my ecu last night while i was checking my tps, it must have showed up inbetween time, and i found the other end of the knock sensor wire birdnested in my fuel injection wires hooked it up and cleared the code now im just waiting on autozone to get in my new tps sensor, thanks guys
