ISR?? What the duece is this stuff?

Okay so im a big noob, no idea what anything is. sorry for the stupid questions.

Questions:

WHats the REd arrow? whats it do, does it HAVE to be there?

The the yellow arrow? whats it do? and does it have to be there?

Does the pipe with the green line have to be along that line? or can i jsut put a cone air filter where that blue circle is? make the pipe super short. and get rid of the red arrow thing?

thanks for any help and sorry for the complete stupidity about whats goin on in my engine bay. ahaha

If you reference this stuff from the diagrams in the fsm it'll probably tell you the names of the items you've listed. You could probably then it

Red arrow is your air intake box (filter box)
green line is air tube to intake manifold where the magic "boom" happens
yellow arrow looks like power steering pump reservoir

can't see what the blue circle is from here; miles away

I'm no expert on R22's, or anything else but those are
my test answers.

I also agree w/previous post

I'd recommend you find a copy of "how to keep your Toyota alive" from
the john muir publicators in Santa fe. Those are great books
for us noobs and my VW and Subaru copies have been a great help.
I'm not 100% sure there's a Toyota version for your year but I'd check
ur local library for a copy.

Cheers

The yellow arrow is pointing to the resonator, some have removed it and put a small filter in its place.

Red arrow is the Air Flow Meter
Green part of the intake.
Yellow is a resonator for the Air Injection Reed valve (smog)
Dont know what blue circles. Looks like the corner of the battery tray

You need what the red arrow points to. Won't run without it.
Many people have swapped the battery and intake.
Many people have also put a small cone filter on what the Yellow is pointing to.
