Eaton M90




These are just the eBay photos, but I won the auction and it's being shipped to my house...total cost: $120!!! Including the shipping insurance and everything!!!

 

Nice man, what vehical did that come off of? I've see a bunch from T-birds super coupes all over ebay. Really popular for 94-98 v6 mustangs, they make a TON of tq.

Not really sure if you're into fabbing a lot, but check out the eaton m112s from 03-04 cobras. You may have to cut up your hood, but it would be sweet lol.

 

I'll already have to hack up the hood I believe...maybe even have to one-off the hood. I've dabbled in fiberglass and think I can handle making the hood...

Yea, the TRD charger for the 5VZ is the Eaton M62, the M90 is 28cc/rev more flow than the 62 so I'll be ramming it down it's throat as it is...but the M112 (50cc/rev more flow) would be sweet. Trust me, I've thought about it...but the cheapest I've found the 112 (since it's so new) was not cheap at all... But yea, I will be fabricating all the pieces myself with the M90 so the 112 would not be more work or anything; just more expensive.

The guy didn't say what it came off of. It should be a Buick though, he said late 90's model GM car. He actually bought it off of a neighbor's son so he didn't know too much about it. I think that's why I got it so cheap, and hopefully I wont have to do too much restoration to it. I will be re-coating the lobes with Teflon though.

On the note of fabrication...I haven't fabricated much stuff myself except simple brackets and stuff out of aluminum, but I am an engineering apprentice and engineering student and my Uncle owns a pretty nice machine shop with some CNC machines so I don't see it being a big problem. I am very confident in my fabrication skills and I'm very confident in a friend's welding ability !

 

Sounds like it'll be one badass project. For future reference, check out SVTperformance.com for m112s if you decide down the road that you need more. I'm a former mustang buff (Still am lol). Just within the last year or two a few guys developed an upper intake bracket for the m112s to go onto 1999-2004 v6 mustangs. I believe that the average hp/tq output for the 3.8s with the m112 was 250+/300+ with a stock pulley.

Nice, sometimes on their for sale forums you can get a deal on m112s. You know, if you ever decide on an m112, you should just go Kenne Bell...just saying...lol.

 

Lol, I don't think I'll be going 112 for a while, so I have plenty of time to think about all that...

 

update: Going to the 'u-pull-it' yard tomorrow to check out a prospective 5VZ...
