For my case I am ripping out as much emission related stuff as I can get away with. In my opinion, it eliminates possible vacuum leaks. If you want more info you can do a search on here lots of technical information and great debates about depleting the ozone and what not.

As for the cig lighter, Boots is right, check the fuse.

Holy thread revival...

I fixed my E Brake light problem! You'll never guess how though!

(here's a hint... I added fluid)

I had misread the levels..... Go me.

Also.... No blown fuses anywhere... It's just... not working @ Cig Lighter... ( which is gonna be frustrating with that 1800 mile trip. Bic to the rescue! )

Do you have power to the wire on the lighter?

I suspect not. I feel really bad here, because I don't have the necessary tools to test this kind of stuff...( I know, who doesn't have MM? .. Or hell, even one of those hot lights.. ya know, the kind where it has the clear plastic handle with a little light in it? )

The only way I've been able to test for power or not is by pressing the lighter in.. and it doesn't stay engaged, which makes me think there is no power...I've traced wires as far as I can under the dash without ripping it all apart ( getting way too close to the trip, I was already worried and nervous yesterday when I did my flush and fill after reading some of the problems people had with the 3.0 airlocking ) and I didn't find any breaks, no charrs, and none of that awesome burning wire smell either. I'm baffled by this to be honest.

Ok well you can do the tongue test like a 9 volt...

no really don't do that...

Just be sure you have it burped and you should be alright. run it with the cap off for a bit and slowly add more fluid. squeeze the hose and fill it up. Also parking on a slight incline will help as well.

Best of luck to ya.

Ya know.. the really bad thing is.. I thought of sticking my tongue in there...I'm a try everything I can to see if it works kinda guy.

As far as the flush and fill went, I followed the trail of bits and parts found through the forums, and it seems to have gone swimmingly. It got freeway testing, and low speed city driving too... and it ( The temp )never even went above halfway.... in fact, sometimes it seemed to sit lower than it did before I did the drain and fill.

HA! You'd have loved it the night I was working on a friend vehicle with him and he told me to hold the spark plug cable and watch for spark....In a sleeveless tshirt.... leaning on the truck....

I have since learned my lesson... ( twice actually )

That makes me happy!!!! I have done that by accident once...Once. The truck was running and I leaned over and my forearm hit a few of the plug wires. Made me move right quick like.

See.. now I don't feel so bad.. I mean, I was alot younger then ( I'm gonna be 26 in a little over a month ) And well.. booze, offroading and intermittent spark due to a ground strap shorting out against a pulley makes for ... interesating times.

I now use a screwdriver and the block to test for spark. Much less of
