well if you did the whole axle yes you would get leafs which in the rear is nice like your fathers for theload carry capacity and flex... but requires axlemounts and shackles to be fabed / mounted.. you can just get the diff from a junkyard and modify your housing there is a how to on the internet... you basicially tap 2 new holes cover 1 or 2 up and cut a notch in your housing. you have to get a matching ratio to your front.. and your runner might have some wiriing already installed from the factory.but just get switches and wiring from donor truck..

look at the vin or if there is a rrdiff switch by the steering wheel left side.. its there.
also you can see the motor on the actual diff with wire going to it.

Yeah im not going with a bracket lift seems pointless to me For now it looks like I just might go with ome 893's up front and some LC coils out back if I can find em for a decent price if not OME 892's out back... and get some nice tires and take it out I have 29 AT's on it right now so I want to get tires with the lift so it doesn't look so dumb haha...

Just do BJ Spacers, 6" TG Shackles, and some Extended length pro comp 3000's and maybe a 2wd spring swap in the rear and she'll flex decent and ride like a caddy.

The OP has a third gen 4runner. None of the above will work without significant welding.
