Help with a VSV on a 1988 4runner 22re

hey guys I just got a new toy 1988 4WD 4runner 22re =] but the red VSV had the two plastic noses for the hoses broken so I am looking for a new one problem is the one on the truck doesnt have a part number just a brand AISIN. Now my cousins truck is a 91 toy pick up 22re and his has 2 red VSV's both with similar part numbers 9091012085 and 9091012086... those pieces look exactly like mine and i took his apart and the electrical fit mine perfectly but since his truck has two do they do two different things or are they similiar? my truck only has one and my question is if I can use one of those part numbers to get a new one and why does mine only have 1?

thanks!

different years and models of the motor, as long as they are both red it will work since they are coded by colors. like a blue or tan are different temp range then a red is. stick to the color u have and u will be fine..

I realize that this is a very old thread but... did you swap the parts? Did it work out fine? The vsv for my '88 was broken by a helper during rebuild and toyaota says it's discontinued. It looks like part number 9091012084 is exactly the same.
