Help with sand + trail 4runner.

Hey,

Born and raised in hawaii. I want to rig my 4runner for trails and of course sand.

Its a 90, 4x4 auto. w/ V6.

I'm keeping the ifs, no need SAS if I'm not crawling, but I was thinking a 4" suspension lift and 2" body lift. 33x12.5, or possibly 33x14.5 if I can get the fenders.

Need the car to pass recon inspection...so yeah. I'll need some pretty beast fenders. What do you think?

ATM, i got drive shafts out, ready to drop tranny to replace engine seals aswell as tranny seals. And, radiator out, trying to swap out new timing belt.

Blasted skit plate and repainted since I had to take it off to drain the radiator fluid. Blasted and power coated drive shafts, and powerwashed and painted radiator, aswell as power washing the clucth fan and the cover for it.

Off to a good start.

Since this is my first post, might as well give a bit more info about me. I'm 16, nearly 17, already a NAVY and ABS certified welder, I can arc and tig, don't ever mig. This 4runner is my baby, my first car. Born and raised in hawaii, and I have 24/7 access to the largest machine shop in the state.

Link doesn't work.

Personally, I would go with 33x10.50 or 35x10.50, spend the money you would use on the lift to buy a good compressor or CO2 setup so you can really air down on the sand.

I don't have a portable compressor, but I have 24/7 access to the largest machine shop in my state. Many compressors there.

Probably a bit far to drive there from the beach with 8 psi in the tires though.

Ah, thought you meant just for cleaning our the sand.

How much would the compressor cost?

Can be anywhere from $50 to $1000 depending on how fast you want to be able to inflate the tires.

Also, while on the site ... options for letting the air OUT:

hey dude good luck with your project! Im 18 now and I started my project when I was 16 and did about everything you wanna do with your rig. Your gonna love the way its gonna look when its finished. Im not sure if you would ever have any need for a winch but I know a few people with the winch/compressor combo and they really like it and it never lets them down. I think warn sells one for about $700.
