help my 1991 toyota 4runner wont start i just did the head gaskets and valves put it back together and it try's to start but it backfires and shoots fireballs out of the intake dont have any timing marks on the crank because the previous owner in his infinte wisdom removed the crankshaft cover and welded the crank to the pulley's so yeah does anyone have any suggestions?

going to have to find those timing marks or pull the valve cover and figure out where its supposed to be. I wish I could be more helpful as far as what to look for as far as valve position but you have to get it back to spec
