if you want sound go with flowmaster. if you want power go withe magnaflow.. the power difference will be about 2hp..... you decide..

i had a flowmaster on mine for about a year. sounded pretty good a little to quiet for my taste. i cut it off and put a 2 1/4 cherry bomb on it was loud and flowed good but i burned all the packing out in like 4 months so i cut that off and now im running a side pipe with no muffler really really loud but i like it. my next will be a magna flow for sure

i doubt you would have a gain period with any muffler on a 22re...maybe more throttle response..but not much hp..maybe like .5 or 1 hp lmao

i vote cherry bomb extreme man. its a single chamber muffler that is cheaper and louder than a flowmaster and much deeper imo. it also has a single in dual outlet. i have this on my v6 and love it

i say try a magna flow the one thats straight through not the turbo one.
i dont even consider flowmasters to be a performance muffler have you see whats in them?! there and chambers and baffles everywhere you can get the the same thing with a thrush chamber welded for half the cost. i bought a flowtech raptor muffler for $22.99 and it flows just as good as the rest of them.

ya the cherry bomb extreme is basically the same thing as a flowmaster but its only has 1 chamber in it. most flowmasters have 2. the cherry bomb extreme is also only 8". i love it on my truck has a very nice tone to it and its decently loud. not as loud as glasspacks or straights but you still get noticed. lol

ive got a free flow Flowmaster on my 88 22re and the power is good. sounds good and deep but not real loud. i had a straight pipe for a while and that was nice and loud but some jerk reported a "puff of smoke" at dmv and it had to pass inspection so i had to put a muffler on it.
