Gearing?????

what ratio should i install on my 92 PU auto tranny and riding on 31's its sluggish on the highway 75 tops with the pedal to the floor and takes forever to get there is it gearing or more? its a freshly rebuilt motor so no problems there i hope. can someone please help

If you change your gears its either gonna get slower or slower (topspeed or acceleration is gonna drop) best thing you can do in your case is build your motor to improve your acceleration and put taller tires or gears for high topspeed

To me, it sounds like an issue other than gearing. You shouldn't have to use full throttle to get up to 75.

Fastest I've ever seen a Toyota pickup/ 4runner go was 85mph and it was on a uhaul trailer behind us during the end of hurricane Francis (broke down In alabama after evacuating from Charlie)

well im tinking of doing a 5spd swap but not sure which tranny i should put in it i know theres like 2 to choose from one having better acceleration and the other top end. just curious as to which is the better one to choose if im not driving it to much but when i do its over a distance

Auto and 31" you should have 4.56 min but 4.88 work good up to 33", Taller 5.29
Auto is really overdrive.

Manual, 31"-33" 4.56, 33"-34" 4.88, 35" 5.29

I have 4.56 and 33" on a 92 Excab man 4x4 longbed 3.slow 300K mi and 90 mph is not hard and just did a 400 Mi trip this last weekend half being bumper to bumper stop and go traffic and averaged 16 MPG.
The only Mods, SRS

Don't be afraid to rev the engine.

Right, 3RZ stock is so much better then any modded 22re or 3vz.
