Gasket or Slicone

I'm doing a thermostat change in reference of tips and tricks.

http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...tml#Thermostat

Do I need any other gasket or silcone material when I replace the thermostat? On a 22re 1990 4x4 PU. The extra material is for around the inlet housing or I just need the o-ring gasket only.
Thanks for any info.............
Mark

if its not sealing with a new thermostat gasket then use some silicone. I recomend getting a tube of toyota-bond or oilpan/camshaft cover silicone directly from toyota. is a little pricey for a tube of it but it works awsome.

I just use the o-ring around the t-stat. I gets clamped between the two halves of the housing and usually seals up just fine.
