Exclamation E Locker....maybe

Afternoon all,

I've been reading around about an E Locker that came on some 4wd's. Is that some thing that can be added or is it something built into a particular type of axle that you can't just add one afternoon? Thanks for the help.

Bruce

It came on some 3rd gen 4runners and TRD tacomas. It's reguires some clearancing of the third housing in V6 and some optional welding in a V6 axle, 4cyl might be a bit more work with some bashing required, other than that it's a drop in a 8" housing.

I'll be doing mine in the spring as soon as I can pull my self away from driving the truck.

Oh and Search, theres lots of info here, I think theres a whole install thread too. At least YOU didn't tell us you were too lazy to seach.

depends - if you have a "pretaco" truck or 4Runner, you can do mods to the axle housing and it will fit.

If you have a Tacoma, you have to swap the WHOLE axle as the housing is bigger.

TRD Tacos have the regular 8" diff

Non-TRD's have the 8.4"

taco is a tacoma.

The toyota mini pickup was refered to as a pickup before the changed to the tacoma badge.
