fuel pump

fuel pump

89 toyota 4 runner on top of the gas tank there two wires a white with black stipe and a solid blue. how do i check to see if there is current coming out of those wires.

Moved your thread. An 89 Runner is a 1st Gen not a 3rd Gen. As far as the voltage goes get a voltmeter and stick it into the wire. Heck even a light tester would work. What are you trying to troubleshoot?

That might help some (BOOKMARK IT!!), Im pretty sure your testing for power to the pump ? if yes im also pretty sure your gonna want 12V on the blue wire you speak of while the key is turned to the on position.

The blue wire supplies power to the pump, the white/black is the ground. The blue wire will only have power when the EFI relay and the Circuit Opening Relay are both closed.
