Fuel injector issues
Okay, this is about the fourth time this has happened between two different injectors. While my 95 toyota 4runner 3.0 v6 (150k miles)is running, it sounds good. When it reaches normal operating temperature, it studders then shuts off then fuel starts running down the back of the motor. When I pull the intake off, I find that one of the injectors (currently #3 injector) has been pushed out of the fuel rail. I can almost remove the injector w/o taking off the rail. When I put the injectors in, I followed the FSM and rubbed some gas around the o-ring. Injector felt like it seated properly also.
Could there be a problem with my fuel pressure being to high and forcing the injector out? How do I check that and fix it. Tomorrow, I am going to get all new injector seats (i think that is what they are called, the rubber ring the injector sits in on the manifold).

Would teflon tape coming off of the fuel damper cause a blockage that could push injectors out. I put it on there when I put the motor back together. If so, how could I clear that blockage. I was gonna force air through the fuel rails and hoses.

You could have gotten teflon tape in there yes and its probably plugged up the holes. You need to pull all that off and use the metal washers that are supposed to go on there. Teflon tape shouldn't be used on cars

take the intake plenum off to get to your fuel damper. take the damper off and clean it out, pull the fuel rails and injectors off. reseal the injectors and blow the fuel rails out with air. Don't blow out the injectors or any other sensitive part with air. Just check them to make sure there is no debris in them

Problem found?
Well, I pulled my fuel injectors and found that the filter screens inside two of them looked as if they had been drowned in grease. I figure that is the reason for the pressure build up and why they have been getting pushed out of the fuel rails. Now, I have a new fuel filter ready to go in, but I also realize that this truck had been sitting for about 6 months before I bought it and then about 3 months while I was getting the motor back together.Sooo...
I want to drain the fuel tank and clean it out (figure some junk settled and is being picked up and brought through the fuel lines) What is the best way to remove and clean out the fuel tank? Thanks.
