Dont pull the tank....
Theres a way to save you the hassle. Flip up the bottom side of the passenger rear seat. Pull the carpet back underneath it and there should be an access door to get to the top of the tank and the sender. If its not working, the first thing id check is to see if you have a good ground. Unfortunately I havent the foggiest idea where it grounds or how the circuit is wired. Hopefully someone will chime in and help you out with that one!
