Flame on the newb

Well...I'm a newbie. I have a 86 4runner with the 22RE. The guy before us took out the fuel system and slapped on a carb. I guess the EFI wasn't doing so well. 187xxx miles and its still purring like a kitten. I have no idea what carb it is. I've looked and only found a series of numbers. Anyways i'm here to learn more about the 4runner!! future engine swap 4.3 vortec, 22rte, or the engine and transmission from a fj40. I've heard that engine is bulletproof? SAS using fj40 axles, arb lockers f/r.

Wow that guy probably realized he fails at life. No pics yet I'll take some today. It is by no means pretty. I took out the carpet and laid down some bedliner. I was to lazy to finish, and lacked experience with it. So it started peeling. Also there was rust in the floor boards so I cut it out and just riveted in a new piece aluminum. And used duct tape around the edges. Now i'm in the process I spraying in rubberized under coater for the interior.

FJ40 engine is too long. Weighs 200 lbs more than a chev 350

Welcome!

Me too. I loved when he asked why cranking the torsion bars on his Tacoma was not lifting it at all. It turned out he was trying to tighten the bolts on his swaybar to get some lift. That was hilarious....

Hey! That looks like my Yota!
Except red.
And running.
And the front bumper does not look like it tried to hang itself on take-off.

That Vortec sounds like an interesting swap. I am still trying to figure out what to do with mine.

I do believe he was over here playing. He was/is a member of Pirate (different screen name). I think I remember reading something over there about his thread as a joke. Most of the info he actually gave was completely wrong and ridiculous.

Yeah, I remember reading those posts an thinking that they were too funny and too dead wrong to be real posts. They were great though.
