First Mods?

So, I have been looking at 4runners lately and am going to get one soon.I want a 84' or 85'.Did the 85's have efi?
Anyways back to my post...I want it for all around off road. Also to be used as a DD.What are the first mods I should do to it?

1985 is first year with EFI

it can perform very well offroad stock
first thing that i would do would be to get some rear corner protection, that is if your going to be going down tight trails

it depends on what your going to do with it on how you mod it
if your going to be on rocks, id say sliders
mud, lockers

So you just bought your first toyota... wheres that post?! haha

Go through the whole rig and make sure it wont crap out on you on the trail. you are looking at buying a 23-24 year old car. You will need to assess all and maybe change gaskets, fluids, bushings, mechanicals, and if you have money left after that, ask about mods.

Read the Newbie FAQ. read a lot of the Newbie questions. search and read, search and read and repeat. This has been covered about 2345324677523 times. If you don't know what they are, are you sure you're ready to be offroading? I know everyone has to start somewhere, but do some research
