Hi guys, just bought a my first 4Runner and I'm pretty sure the HGs are blown. Anyway, my question is should a V6 out of a 93 SR5 Auto 4X4 drop right into my 95 SR5 Auto 4X4? Do I need to pull the ECU and harness out of the 93, or are the electrical connections the same? Thanks in advance guys, great site btw!

 

Has the head gaskets been replace by toyota? There was a recall, and they will replace them for free once. Check it out.

Thanks for the reply Z. Unfortunatly, my 4runner doesn't qualify for the recall anymore. I verified it with local dealership, and Toyota's national line. They informed me that it ended in 2008!

 

i believe people are still getting the recall done, but it's kinda tricky i think

 

If anybody can chime with any advice on how to still get the recall done that would be nice.

 

If they wont honor the recall, the swap should work fine.

 

Thanks for the input you guys. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I contacted a buddy of mine that works at our local dealership about the recall yesterday. He thinks that he may get his district manager to honor the recall! I'm praying hard for it to go through!
