drive shaft problem (maybe)

drive shaft problem (maybe)
ok so i just bought a 1988 4runner and it has a poorly done block lift of about 3 inches and 32 bfg's on it. It had a blown diff so i got the axle codes and went to put the diff from my parts truck in it (both have a g292 axle code). the problem is that the plate on the end of the drive shaft is bigger than the plate on the diff. the guy said it was a stock drive shaft. also the drive shaft from my parts truck is to short. In the end my question is A: are the plates on a 22re smaller than the one from a 3vz even though they have the same axle code? and B: If it really is a stock drive shaft in the new truck why is the one from my parts truck to short?
new truck has 3vz parts truck was a 22re

The flanges on the diffs are different on the 22re/3vze equipped trucks. You should be able to re-drill the flange and make it work. Or you can swap out flanges.
were both the trucks manual or auto?
