Drive Shaft Issues

Hey I noticed extreme drive shaft vibrations one day so I checked and discovered that my rear CV or U joint or whatever its called is torn. Would I be able to replace it or would I need a whole drive shaft? Thanks In advance. Also I should ask as a novice mechanic should I take this task on myself? It appears very simple but it always does and rarely is. I'll post a picture soon

They are replaceable. You can get the u-joints at about any auto parts store for 20 bucks or less.

My only concern is that the U joint has done too much damage already (is that possible?) because the double cardan, I think its called, is pretty loose but maybe not sorry I intended to post pictures but Phone isnt workin out right now thanks for the response

If it is caught early it won't. I have driven them for miles and never had issues.

Should be fine, i just did my first one a couple months ago. You can get them at autozone with lifetime warranty for like 10 bucks a piece. There are tons of youtube videos on how to do it, just unbolt the side of the driveshaft that has the worn out u joint and slide it out.
