Disappointing Exhaust

Just got a Cherry Bomb Vortex (2.5 in/out) installed w/ the stock piping and needless to say I liked it better stock. I can feel the performance gain but it sounds a bit ricey and can't hear the engine rev anymore. My 6spd Celica's tanabe exhaust sounded deeper!

My question is, would 3 inch piping aft of the muffler and/or before make a difference in sound or am I just wasting my money.

Performance Mods: S/C, Deckplate, IPT

you would probably be just wasting your money, it's a Toyota, i am still to hear a stock toyota engine that sounds like anything but ricer. Sorry to disappoint you.

Flowmaster would sound a bit deeper, but its not too much of a performance muffler.

I had a 2.2 camry with 2.25 inch piping (header back) with a moroso spiral flow and a magnaflow striaght through muffler. that was pretty much the best sounding toyota (stock 4banger wise) that I've heard. I'm not sure how close to that the truck could sound, but i probably have a clip of it somewhere if your interested.

It's not stock, S/C and deckplate gave it a deeper throatier sound. I've heard nice sounding taco exhausts, was hoping for a sort of hollow/deeper tone...not farty.

I was thinking it would probably improve over time, I'm not going to chop it off anytime soon. Do you have the vortex?

Mine was quite deep. Just too loud.
