Cold air intake only two hoses help please

hi,
This is my first post on yotatech, and i just bought a cold air intake for my truck off ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT) and it only came with two hoses, but when i disconnected the entire stock air intake system the one tube i circled on the left does not have a hose. i saw this guy on here had a cap on his,(http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sel...taPickupV6.jpg) would i need to get one of those? My kit did not come with one, and if so where would i get it? and would it do something bad if i ran my engine without a cap on it? please help i don't know what to do.

oh also my air intake is not the exact one the other guy has its holes for the hoses are on the same piece of pipe. thank you

The hose on the far left is for your EGR system, it goes under the intake so its pretty hard to trace it with the intake on, but it goes to the passenger rear of your engine and into the back of the EGR. You could cap it, I don't know what that would do to the rest of your EGR system though. try searching the forums for EGR removal and see what pops up. For a cap you could look at lowes/home depot in the plumbing section maybe? Another option is just to take your stock hose and connect it to your new intake.

Thank you, your advice helped alot, i would connect it to the new intake but there are only two holes i can stick it into, and the EGR hose is alot larger than bolth of them.

Yeah to connect the EGR up you'd have to add another port to your intake. If you search "ISR mod" you can find tons of threads on how people have added a port to their intake with just parts from the local hardware store. Definitely annoying to get a new upgrade for your truck and then have to do extra work to get it working right, but that's often how it goes.

yeah, it was a real downer to take out the stock system, put the new one in, then put the stock back in because i didn't want to have any chance ruining my truck by running it without a hose, and now to find out if i do cap it off i may potentially explode while in cruise control. I am going to try to return it because i don't think it is safe. thank you for your help.
