code 43, need guidance

hey. I just bought my 91, 22re, and now my cel is on. a week before i bought it, it was in to toyota for a bunch of exhaust work, so i'm not suprised i have code 21, which is o2 sensor.

I also have a code 43, which is "STARTER SIGNAL--NO "STA" SIGNAL TO ECU UNTIL ENGINE SPEED EXCEEDS 800RPM"

Can anyone give me some direction on this? is it serious? where should I look first, and has anyone come across this before. truck runs awesome for the most part, i did notice something earlier today, though.

when traveling at higher speeds, if i give just enough gas to accellerate very gently, everything is fine. if i push the pedal in a little more to where it bogs slightly, the vehicle's performance seems stunted, and actually slows down slightly. I'm going with the o2 sensor on this one, could be running a little rich.

if anyone can help me with code 43 i'd be grateful

well i ordered an o2 sensor, it'll be here tomorrow. I'll put that in, remove the battery cable for 15 minutes, and see if I still have a code 43.

Anyone at all? Am I posting this in the right section?
