Hello folks, this is my first post. I’ve been reading past threads for the past 3 years, I’ve been trying to find the info on what’s going on with the truck but no luck. I did find some who had the same issue, but not like mine? Same code though. Code 42. My spedo works, CEL doesn’t go on until I race the engine for more than 8 seconds over 2500 rpm’s. Speedometer works, odometer works. Even though I don’t care for it, cruise control doesn’t work and ECT PWR doesn’t work but their light indicators work. I had used past threads and started doing some of my own tinkering. Went from changing my gauge cluster three times. For those who are gonna ask, I have the electrical speedo . Bought a brand new speed sensor too and that didn’t change anything. So I’m thinking it’s a problem with the ECU? I just don’t want to keep buying these expensive parts only for it to not fox the problem. Anyone have an idea what’s going on? Or where in the truck I should be looking at, or what wires to check.
