Clutch brand

Does anyone have any thoughts on LUK brand clutches? Marlin appears to be the preferred brand, but I can get a LUK locally and they offer a standard kit and and a "Gold" kit. I was thinking of getting the gold, what ever that means. If anyone has one of these installed or knows anything about them, I would appreciate any opinions. Thanks.

Ok. I found a place to order the Aisin kit and ordered it. It is not the HD clutch, it is the standard. Cheap enough and from all I can gather, Aisin is the one to get. The kit includes the throw out bearing. Should I use the one from the kit or would I be better off going to the dealer for that item?

Talking

I have one Luk and one Asian one in a Tacoma one in a 4Runner.

I have to say I like the feel of the Luk clutch better so I have another one ordered for the 4Runner

I had a Aisin clutch last 230,000 miles. Being the smart guy I am...I quickly went out and got another. I fully expect it to last another 230,000 miles.

The bearing in the kit should either be a Nachi or a KOYO, if you don't see either on the box...get one from the dealer.
