A/C light does not turn on when pressed

My name is Mike and I've been poking around these forums for awhile now, but I have a question of my own now. I have a 1994 4runner 4wd v6 and when I press the A/c button the light does not even turn on. My mechanic has looked into it but not enough to diagnose the problem (he was busy fixing other problems). Any ideas?

Does the A/C still turn on when you push the button? If so, its probably just a burned out bulb.

Thanks! No the A/C does not kick in. It does something, but I can't remember what my Mechanic said.

Have you checked the fuses?

I couldn't find them on the panel. I am assuming they are inline. Is there an easy way to do this?

Check the fuse panel underneath your hood.

HAHA LMAO

well, for future reference, fuses, fusable links, wiring, grounds, make sure the switch itself is plugged in.

I had this exact same issue in my 95 Toyota Pickup SR5 3.0L and it was a fuse that is located behind the glove box.. It is easiest to remove that whole right panel of the dash (glove box included) and there is location with a 30A and a 10A fuse and for me it was the 10A fuse and everything worked.

you have two fuses behind the glove box, possible a fuse under steering wheel by the left foot. you also have an adjustment behind the glove box with a knob.
note: ac light can be on but a/c not working.
if the light starts working, but still no a/c, you can go to the a/c compressor and jump the clutch to see if that works to eliminate that
