Bumper compatability

Hey all, would an aftermarket bumper built for a 93 pickup bolt on to an 86? I'm pretty sure the frame design is the same from 86 94, but i want to be sure before I buy something without trying it out

Pickup 1984-1985
Pickup 1986-1988
Pickup 1989-1995

are the front bumper compatability year spans.

thanks, that's exactly what i was looking for.

Is the difference the width of the frame rails, brackets or just mount holes?

I'd like to put a full steel front bumper on my truck such as is on the 95' trucks. I have an 86' w/ those lame plastic corners. they don't protect much at all.

how difficult would it be to get a stock one to fit?

I know the ARB bumper is compatible with trucks from 84-95. Just something to think about.

yeah right - i was thinking that too!

Also other aftermarket bumper makers...

So if they bolt up to all those years will the factory bumpers mate up as well? Maybe w/ little mods?

Maybe it's just the body style differences in those years:
"Picup 1984-1985
Pickup 1986-1988
Pickup 1989-1995"

But i dont know - some one does though...

ARB same bumper, different mounts.

Mounts are different for years I previously documented.

Makes sense. I bought my bumper used so I have no idea if it came with a mount kit for different years.

I do know it fits trucks from 84-88 in its current configuration though.

Anyway, for the original poster. If you do a little fab work you can make most anything work.

The only thing I'd really be worried about is if the bumper looks good on your truck and matches the body lines.

Dear Newbie,

If you have to ask, you can't make it fit.

I may be new to yotatech but i'm certainly NOT new to mods and fabricating... I'm just trying to get an idea of how MUCH modding needs to be done. I don't have a 95' for reference. I just want to know if it's worth my time.
