Brake Pad Installation Question Anti Squeal Shim Install or leave out?

Brake Pad Installation Question Anti Squeal Shim Install or leave out?

I recently bought some new pads "Raybestos Quiet Stop Premium Ceramic Brake Pads" PGD611QS and was wondering, do I need to install the Anti Squeal Shims. The pads I bought have one Shim attached to them already. There are a total of four on the old pads. Please let me know! Thanks everyone!

I did, OEM pads in my case and I used anti-squeel grease on the shims. I would use one shim from the old pads along with the new shim. Use the outside shims that was against the pistons/caliper if in good condition and in the same position. It's such a trivial thing to do to ensure quiet operation of the brakes.

thank you for the feedback. I'll go ahead and install the old anti squeal plates this weekend. The pads already have a shim attached to them so I'm going to use one shim per pad from the old set. They work fine right now but the shims may prevent future noise. Like you said, its trivial, so I'm just going to install one per pad and I might be half right or half wrong, but I'll feel safer in the gray zone! Highly appreciate it! Thanks again.
