Brake master cylinder ?

Yes I searched. Yes I think it will work, but since my junkyard has a very strict no returns no refunds policy I need to ask specifics anyway.

Want to do the dual diaphragm MC and BB upgrade for 85 4x4. Found only a 1993 2wd truck at my Small town Junkyard with above no return policy, SO is this the correct MC and BB set?

Thanks

i think that these are the three different brake boosters:

1)small diameter dual booster(what's on the '93 at the yard??)
2)big diameter double booster(t100 booster, the holy grail)
3)big diameter single booster(what you have now??)

pics of big and small diameter boosters: http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/4runner/brakes/

if you want to upgrade to the bigger rotors and calipers, #2 is the way to go, that's what i did, with a new mc.

if you have a spacer on your '85, behind the booster... i had to take it off of my '86, in order to get enough pedal travel with the new booster.

if the steering column contacts the edge of the booster, you may be able to dent the booster in slightly there, search the archives.

see the step in the front of the booster? it's a dual booster, which is good.

however, look at the big gap between the booster and the brake line going over the top, which might indicate that it's a small diameter booster.

1)take a photo of the booster that you have in your '85
2)tell us how far you want to upgrade the brakes... are you upgrading calipers and rotors along with the booster/mc?

Yes this is all i plan to do right now. (Brake wise) Just to stop better with 33s. I will do the V6 vented disk and rear drum to disk later. Thanks

notice how the top of that booster is closer to the brake line? it's probably a large diameter, single booster... versus the small diameter dual booster at the junkyard.

i'm not sure which of those will give you better brakes, and i don't know what the plunger diameter of that junkyard master is... need to keep the same size as what you have now.

whichever booster you do run, you'll want to replace with the t100 large diameter dual booster, when you do the v6 update... can you find that booster in a junkyard now? have you priced a rebuilt one at the local flaps, or online?

Yes I have priced the dual diaphragm t100 booster for $180 rebuilt and the whole MC/BB yard one here is $60. Unfortunately this is the only one here in town, so I suppose that's the real?/ go ahead with a rebuilt t100 for more now or do it later because I will not be able to find it in the junkyard here.

Currently the brake booster on my 85 is a single diaphragm 8.56 diameter.
The one off 93 is a 8.7 dual. So there should be some kind of improvement and it should also fit without encroachment on steering column. So I think I will go ahead with this one. It's way cheaper way to attempt.
