ok yes i am new here but i breifly skimied through search to try and find my answer but to no avail. my question is were can i find a possibly new sheet metal bed for a 86/87 4wd pickup, or at least give me some idears for a bed that is still usable. i like the fiberglass but not the price associated with it plus i want to be able to but a dirt bike in the back or what ever else. sheet metal is so much easier to repair and still remain stong over time. any ways if some one could give me some help on were to locate if not make a bed.

yes i am new not to the toyota world jus to the fourm have had 2 4-runner 95 and 97 and 1 87 turbo supra. this coming next wkend i am picking up 2 4wd pickups 86 an 87 plus some parts for 650 bucks hoping to make at least one descent truck and the other a toy to f around in if not use the engine to make a buggy or one hella go-kart.

the DD 07 subaru WRX also very fun to drive and drift in snow or what ever.

It might be tough in the mid-west, but you should be able to find a used bed that isn't rusted out, or at least one with less rust that is easier to repair. I would just build a flat bed and be done with it myself.

 

thanks for reply out of 40 some people that looked at this. yeah i will most likely just build a bed im not huge in the off road type bed i would like to beable to use it for some utillity.

 

I've seen some very trick tube beds with storage boxes in the sides and stuff like that. Just takes some creativity and time.
