basic upgrades-?
Hello,
I am a new owner to a 2000 taco, trd/sr5. Awesome truck. I am a rookie to upgrading for off road. I am wondering what would be some good places to start for turning her into a badass machine.
I kind of have an idea- (intake, tires, lift,)
But some advice from you all would be great.
thanks
matt

Welcome to YT! Where in Colorado you from? Theres a few places that deal with on Toyotas. Slee Offroad, and Offroad Solutions are my favorites. If your looking to go 4wheelin in it, theres a bunch of us here that go up to the mountains pretty regularly, you should join us some time.

Welcome to the board. You should be able to find any information you need on your truck either here or on TTORA. With that said what kind of wheeling do you plan to do. What are your goals for the look of the truck? These are things that we would like to know to help in the recomendation of the correct hardware for your truck.

Beginner's mod most definitely the diff. breather mod. Trust me it will save you LOTS of headaches and money down the road. Then as for the intake do the deckplate mod and save lots of money instead of throwing it away on a K&N junk. Search around and you'll see lots of stuff. Welcome aboard and I'm sorry to say you will start losing money just by joining us!

thanks,
i already have found tons of info on this site, this is great.
I plan to do moderate off roading, definitely hitting trails and some technical stuff, but I dont want a rock crawler. It will still have to be a daily driver.
a lift is on my list,
tires, and wheels,
intake, and any slight power mods to engine,
maybe a rack to go above my topper.
I have a rear locking differential, is front nessesary?
glad to be part of this site.
