backspacing ?

what should the backspacing be on the rim for an 85 4runner (stock)?also how wide should the rim be? it has a tg high steer on it if that makes any difference. want to run 36x12.50 15's on it but have not gotten any wheels or tires for it yet. did find out something about a chevy 6 bolt rim yesterday. the hole in the center of the rim was to small to fit over the hub. I thought chevy and yota rims would interchange. the stock rim on the 4runner seems to be about 3.5 but very narrow.

I run 15x8 with 3.75" BS and GLO DIY beadlocks with 2" wheel spacers on 39.5/13.50/15 Iroks on my 85.

My '88 has an '85 front axle, Trail Gear steering and 36" Swampers. I run 1.5" wheel spacers and 15x8 wheels with 4" backspacing. This setup works great for me.

You could probably get away with running 3.5" of 3.75" backspacing and no wheelspacers, but with 4" backspacing or more you will need spacers in order to fit around the calipers and high steer arms, and to keep the tires from rubbing the springs real bad at full turn.

thanks for the reply, that is what I needed to know. hey wabbit, what kind of axles are you running? that big of a tire seems like a lot of pressure on those yotas.
