99 tacoma e locker question

Im buying a 99 tacoma with elocker and the guy told me that you can only drive 5mph tops with the elocker locked. Is that true?

I have a 03 Taco and I believe the door sticker does say 5mph tops when the elocker is locked. This is because you have to be in 4wheel low for the locker to lock from the factory. I believe the mod mentioned above allows you to be locked in 4wheel high instead of 4wheel low. I believe Toyota does the 4wheel low locked only because of liability.

if you do the grey wire mod u can lock the locker anytime u want dont need to be in 4wd and you can drive over 5mph with that mod its really easy takes like 5mins

i dont think that you cannot drive over 5mph but you have to be driving under 5mph and in 4lo for it to ENGAGE, but after that u can speed up

I've had my 03 "grey wired" for three years now and regularly drive faster than 5 mph with it locked. No issues. Next to having a locker, it's been the best mod on my truck.

Any body have the wire diagrame and list of what is needed to complet this mod. Also where are the connectors under the dash that i need to splise into the wires?
