98 tacoma

I have a 98 Toyota Tacoma with a rusted frame, missed the recall or should I say Toyota dealer screwed me. I found a lot of trucks with automatic trans. My question is will a 5speed 4cyl fit into a auto trans 4cyl frame? Are there any other options you can think of? There is nothing good to the frame from front to back.

4x4 frame is the same auto or manual.

The frame is the same but the transmission crossmember location for a 4cyl auto is different from every other engine/trans combo of the generation.

So what your saying is, as long as it's a 4cyl the frame will work whether or not it has a auto trans or 5 speed?

That's the exact opposite of what I said.

Yes but you'll need to fab up different motors mounts and I think tranny mounts? Definitely the cross member mounts..
