3.4 swap body harness help (must be driving by Monday)

Hello, I have a 1995 Toyota pickup 4x4 5 speed with a 3.0. I bought this truck to be a daily driver. The engine was bad. I bought a 1997 Toyota 3.4 engine from a 4runner Automatic 4x4. Wiring harness was chopped. I purchase a 1997 Toyota 4runner Auto harness and repined it for 1997 M/T computer. 3.4 Engine is installed. Exhaust is done. What I need help with is hooking up the Grey and white body harness from the 95' to the 97' body harness coming from the engine. I have searched every where. Everyone give just enough info to get confused but not enough to get the job done. This is my first time working on Toyota's and the only vehicle I own. I've been working on this thing for a week and have to drive to work on Monday. Please help. Thanks so much. I am kinda retarded so please explain it to me like I'm 2 years old

If your trying to do this without the Toyota Electrical Diagrams for both vehicles.

I wish you luck.

Just where are you someone maybe could help in person.

I can see why you would be confused.

If I had both Even then online it would drive one crazy.

I am trying to use Mitchell PRODEMAND wiring diagrams. They suck. I'm looking at IH1 from the 95' and 113 from the 97'. If I just knew what the wires went to it would be easy to match up.

I really like having the books side by side old fashioned because I learned that way most likely.

That is one of the problems Maybe it was a Typo But it should be II3 not 113

Just a hint. When looking at toyota tech for 95 pickup. Look for 95 truck instead. They have both listed.

We don't all have electrical wiring diagrams. I did a 3RZ swap, and I had to buy the '98 Taco EWD and figure out what I could from Chiltons/Haynes manuals for my '84 pickup. To do this swap, you need EWDs from Toyota for the years you're working on. I am not trying to be a dick, but I feel like you're somewhat unprepared. (Although I'm unsure of your circumstances, please understand a lot of us deal with a few lazy folks... Not saying you are, by any means, just stating for future readers) If I had the diagrams, I would be happy to share, but I don't for those exact years. I have a 1998 Toyota EWD if that helps, and I may have a generic Haynes/Chilton that covers several generations. (Update:Chilton book is for '70-'88, and no wiring diagrams)

I'm interested in this info as well, since I have a 3.4 waiting to go in the '88 Runner. But I haven't acquired the EWDs yet. Or the belts, hoses, gaskets, seals, etc.

PM me if you need something from the 98 book, and I will search through what I have.

And as was mentioned above, what's your general location? Maybe someone nearby willing to give a hand?

The thing is it takes time to sit down and write these things out plus it takes far more skills on the computer then what I have.

The fact I can`t type does not help.

First thing I do with any Toyota I buy is to get the EWD

Even having the EWD`S some people can`t figure out how to do the merge then you get one or two wires wrong and it does not work.

Poor planning on your part does not a emergency make for me.

Most all of us are willing to help I myself don`t have what you need.

*** If you were close I would be willing to try and help in person

Another good place for wire diagrams is Autozone.com, you have to set up a free account.

I didn't get a free account from autozone. For both vehicles it cost $43 for the year. I also have a 2 day membership to TIS $15. I also have Mitchell Prodemand. So, as far as EWD's I have 3 sets for each vehicle. repining the 1997 4runner harness from auto to manual was easy. As far as figuring out the functions from the C1, C2, IH1, II3 and such to combined the 2 body harnesses together, I have sustained a substantial amount of brain damage. I think I have about half of them figures out. Hardest part is finding the wiring and connectors from the diagrams. Someone who knows more than me just needs to Label the connectors and identify each pin for the different years or at least reference the exact location to find the information. Someone could make some money selling this info. I've already spent $70 on wiring diagrams and countless hours. I have more time into research than into the swap. It appears that the majority of swaps on yotatech were competed by buying stuff from ORS or that other place. I sure wish someone was able to help. Anything would be helpful.

Most swaps are more research then wrenching time.

If you had the Toyota EWD hard copies it tells you where all the connectors are located

If I had a Toyota EWD for the 95 pick up and the 97 4Runner I would be glad to figure out just what you need at the Normal shop rate.

Like was stated before you do have the fourth plug that does not come with the engine harness that plugs into the ECM??

Yes, I do have the 4th ECM plug. I ordered it from a dealer in Washington. What is your shop rate and how long do you think it would take? I'll PM you my phone number. Thanks.

You offered to do it at the normal shop rate. i just needed to know how much it was going to cost me for the information. I figured out where each wire goes. Now I am just trying to match them up. I should have it done today. I hope.
