I have a 95 4runner 3.0 auto trans 4wd 134k miles and the transmission is slipping bad in reverse and not as bad in the fwd gears, but shifts smooth. The transmission filter and fluid was changed a couple months ago with no problems then. The trany fluid now smell burnt (kinda like an old cigarette). Does it need to be rebuilt or is it something simple I'm overlooking? Thanks

Was it a complete flush or just a filter drop and change? If just a drop and change then I would get it flushed and see if you still have problems. If you still have problems then you probably need a rebuilt.
